Tempe-based ArmorWorks has secured a $9.2 million contract to provide the U.S Air Force with more than 29,000 protective inserts to be worn in armored vests, company officials said Wednesday.
Last month, ArmorWorks signed a $30 million contract with the U.S. Army to provide armored panels for Humvees being used by troops in Iraq.
And U.S. Rep. J.D. Hayworth also announced that 38 percent of the work under a $47.7 million Navy contract to provide spare parts for F-18 fighter jets, will be performed at the McDonnell Douglas plant in Mesa.
The work for that project is slated to be completed in September 2006.
