Whether it’s metal fabrication, machining, welding or composite molding, tooling, or structural bonding, ArmorWorks in-house capabilities support prototype and test hardware fabrication. We build direct from solid models for speed and accuracy and use proven production process that are controlled by our ISO-9001 quality system.
ArmorWorks analyzes ballistic and blast effects using state-of-the-art computer simulation and modeling tools. We use advanced hydrocodes (such as CTH Code) and non-linear methods to analyze and predict the dynamic response of structures, vehicles and occupants under impact and high-G load conditions. We model ballistic impact, crash, and blast events using our customized hydrocodes and computational tools that have been refined over 20-years experience and more than 10,000 ballistic shots and blast tests.
For over 20 years, ArmorWorks engineering team has integrated and qualified products on more than 150 different land, sea, and air platforms. We offer integrated survivability solutions for extreme environments and work closely with our customers to create best value solutions by balancing weight, cost, and protection. We offer comprehensive engineering and manufacturing solutions that are fully tested for reliable protection. We test to FMVSS, MIL-STD-810 Environmental Exposure, Shock, Vibration, EMI, Crash, and Automotive Load Testing to make sure our products perform as expected in extreme environments.
Quality and traceability is part of our DNA. ArmorWorks ISO-9001: 2005 certified quality system assures that every part we make works every time. Our in-process ultrasonic inspection, x-ray radiography, and other Non-Destructive (NDT) methods verify that our products and materials function exactly as designed. We use these same NDT methods to inspect products in the field for in-service inspection and health monitoring.
Our products are designed for extreme protection. ArmorWorks instrumented Ballistic Test Laboratory uses full-scale testing to prove-out our products with actual ballistic and blast data. We shoot the full range of small and medium caliber ball bullets, Armor Piercing bullets and fragment threats up 20mm onsite then move to instrumented outdoor testing for IED, blast and full-scale vehicle verification. We test early and often to find the limits of performance and use lessons learned in testing to improve our products and fine-tune our computer simulations.
