ArmorWorks receives $33 million for Marines’
S-SAPI Armor

TEMPE, Ariz. – September 26, 2006 – ArmorWorks,
a leading provider of advanced armor products, today announced
the award of two indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity
contracts, totaling up to $33 million, to provide the U.S.
Marine Corps with Side-mounted Small Arms Protective Inserts
(S-SAPI) and carriers.
ArmorWorks’ advanced side armor system
incorporates both ceramic armor inserts and soft armor. The
company’s proven record of protective capability, delivery and
quality were among the factors the U.S. Marine Corps Systems
Command considered in its selection. ArmorWorks applied its
patented C2® armor technology to create this integrated side
protection system for the U.S. Marine Corps.

ArmorWorks to provide them upgraded side protection,” said

armor system, in combination with our lightweight front and
back armor plates that we currently provide, gives our Marines
360-degree armor protection using ArmorWorks products.”
ArmorWorks currently supplies the U.S. Marine
Corps, U.S. Army, U.S. Navy, and U.S. Air Force with body
armor, vehicle armor, and aircraft armor including lightweight
armor for the Marines’ CH-46E helicopter fleet and the U.S.
Navy’s Landing Craft-Air Cushion (LCAC) that transports U.S.
Marines from ship to shore.
