TEMPE, Ariz. – May 25, 2006 – Tempe-based ArmorWorks is the
2006 Arizona Association of Industries (AAI) Manufacturer of
the Year in the medium size company category. This statewide
competition serves to bring attention and acknowledgment to
Arizona’s manufacturing community and the contributions its
members make to the state both economically and socially.
ArmorWorks received this award for its forward-thinking in
product development, its ability to utilize technology and
strong commitment to the state of Arizona. The company
provides high-tech armor protection, with systems in service
around the world in all branches of the U.S. military.
Recently, ArmorWorks has been developing a seat system that
prevents spinal compression injuries to U.S. troops caused by
landmine detonations.
Three companies were recognized based on size: small which
were fewer than 100 employees; medium, 100 to 500 employees;
and large, over 500 employees. ArmorWorks currently has 250
employees and plans to continue expanding.
“This award belongs to all 250 ArmorWorks employees. It’s
gratifying that our commitment to saving lives is acknowledged
with this award,” said William J. Perciballi, President and
Founder of ArmorWorks.
AAI, founded in 1964, is the largest manufacturing/industrial
trade association in the state. Its mission is to build and
enhance a climate favorable to manufacturing and related
industries. AAI is the state affiliate to the National
Association of Manufacturers.
