TEMPE, Ariz. – December 6, 2004 –
ArmorWorks shipped its 1,000th kit of Humvee armor to the United States Army from its facility in Tempe.  Adj. Gen. of the Arizona National Guard, Maj. Gen. David P. Rataczak helped seal the crate, along with U.S. Rep. J.D. Hayworth and ArmorWorks president and founder, Bill Perciballi.

Maj. Gen. Rataczak said, “The safety of our soldiers is our number one priority.  The Ballistic Advantage Armor Kit gives our troops another barrier of protection.  The kits give our soldiers not just the protection they need, but also is a confidence builder as they go about performing their critical missions on the war on terrorism.”

Hayworth said, “What transpires in this shop really brings aid to our fighting men and women overseas.  The hometown heroes here may be far from the front, but are in the thick of the battle, protecting our men and women with this great product and innovation.  We celebrate you today, our hometown heroes, protecting our men and women at freedom’s frontier.”

Perciballi told employees, “Saving lives is the real business of ArmorWorks.  We’re very proud of what we do and we’re proud of the products we make that save our soldiers’ lives everyday.”

ArmorWorks received a $30 million contract from the U.S. Army in April 2004 to supply protective armor kits for military vehicles in Iraq.  The kits provide protection against roadside bombs, landmines, assault rifle and small arms fire.

In addition to the vehicle armor contract, the company recently announced that it received the second delivery order for $27 million for body armor and a $10 million order for aircraft armor.
