ArmorWorks “HomeTown Heroes” Ship 1,000th Humvee Armor Kit to
U.S. Army

TEMPE, Ariz. – December 6, 2004 –
ArmorWorks
shipped its 1,000th kit of Humvee armor to the
United States Army from its facility in Tempe. Adj. Gen. of
the Arizona National Guard, Maj. Gen. David P. Rataczak helped
seal the crate, along with U.S. Rep. J.D. Hayworth and
ArmorWorks president and founder, Bill Perciballi.
Maj. Gen. Rataczak said, “The safety of our
soldiers is our number one priority. The Ballistic Advantage
Armor Kit gives our troops another barrier of protection. The
kits give our soldiers not just the protection they need, but
also is a confidence builder as they go about performing their
critical missions on the war on terrorism.”
Hayworth said, “What transpires in this shop
really brings aid to our fighting men and women overseas. The
hometown heroes here may be far from the front, but are in the
thick of the battle, protecting our men and women with this
great product and innovation. We celebrate you today, our
hometown heroes, protecting our men and women at freedom’s
frontier.”
Perciballi told employees, “Saving lives is the
real business of ArmorWorks. We’re very proud of what we do
and we’re proud of the products we make that save our
soldiers’ lives everyday.”
ArmorWorks received a $30 million contract from
the U.S. Army in April 2004 to supply protective armor kits
for military vehicles in Iraq. The kits provide protection
against roadside bombs, landmines, assault rifle and small
arms fire.
In addition to the vehicle armor contract, the
company recently announced that it received the second
delivery order for $27 million for body armor and a $10
million order for aircraft armor.
