ArmorWorks receives $5.5
million order for USMC helicopter armor
Tempe, Arizona-based manufacturer receives
delivery order for advanced aircraft armor
TEMPE,
Ariz. – September 2, 2005 –
ArmorWorks has received a $5.5 million contract to deliver 164
Light Weight Armor Replacement System (LWARS) kits for the
USMC’s CH-46E Helicopter. Work will be performed in Tempe,
Ariz. for the Naval Air Systems Command based in Patuxent
River, Md. with a scheduled completion date of December 2005.
“We
continue to partner with the U.S. military to field the latest
armoring technologies for the Marines, and this contract
strengthens our relationship,” said ArmorWorks president and
founder, Bill Perciballi.
ArmorWorks
received a previous LWARS contract for the CH-46E helicopter
last November 2004. ArmorWorks is currently fulfilling
advanced body armor contracts with the U.S. Army, U.S. Air
Force, and the U.S. Marine Corps. The company also supplies
its Ballistic Advantage Armor Kits to the U.S. military to
protect vehicles such as the HMMWV (High Mobility Multipurpose
Wheeled Vehicle,) M915 Tractor, and the FAV (Fast Attack
Vehicle.)
